Reading Response Blog Assignment: Ch 6&11:
In Chapter 6 they talk about all the technology you could use in your classroom. Some of the technology is voice activated devices, touch screen computer screens, handheld devices, smartphones, and mini laptops. I would personally like to teach in a classroom with a lot of technology because, it will keep the kids engaged and you have more options on how to teach you lessons. but with more technology comes more problems with getting it to work so you will also have to have a back up incase it doesn't go as planned.
In chapter 11 they talk about audiovisual technology being used in a classroom. For audio one traditional technology is the cassette players that read the books to you while you follow along. you could use this as a learning center where the kids have to go and listen to the books if they don't have the tools to read on their own yet. An emerging technology for audio would be internet radio. you could use this to listen to different country's radio stations. you could use it for science and music. you can even use it if your doing a government lesson where you listen to the national news. Next is visual technology in a classroom. a traditional form of visual tech would be chalkboard you can use it to write on to show what your talking about and to form and idea. An emerging technology would be the smart boards, you could use these boards to show videos. pictures, power points, and to display activities where the kids can come up and use it.

Theoretical Foundations
When I was in middle school I had a teacher that used the Behaviorist theory when they were teaching. We would get rewards for bad behaviors like extra time at recess. What middle school kid didn't want more recess time. If we did the behavior that she didn't like that was linked to more recess time we had to sit or stand by the teacher while everyone else got the extra time. I could see me using this in my classroom because it seemed to work for all of the kids. I mean yes some days there were more kids sitting or standing at recess but we hated it when we had to do it. So, it worked well with us kids. But Ihave also been told you don't get to pick the reinforcer the child does. Because it all depends on what the kids like as a group or individual. what works with one kid might not work with another kid.
